Welcome to the Cheltenham and Three Counties Race Club

President:
Lord Oaksey, OBE

WHO WE ARE
We are a group of enthusiasts who aim to organise and support a variety of events throughout the year which, we hope, will appeal to anyone interested in horse racing. Throughout the year we make a number of contributions to racing charities.

WHAT WE DO
Our Club meetings are normally held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, where a wide range of guest speakers are invited to express their views and opinions on all aspects of horse racing and horse welfare.

Guests are invited to talk about many aspects of the sport of racing and its associated industry. During 2009 our speakers have included Fergal O’Brian (head lad to Nigel Twiston-Davies), Jonnie Worrall (head lad to Nicky Henderson), Jim Cornelius (CEO of The National Association of Stable Staff), Jenny and Mark Pitman, Dan Skelton and Clifford Baker, David Griffiths - winner of John Smith’s People’s Race and the runner-up, Craig Brown, plus C4’s Jim McGrath, who hosted our Official Festival Preview in March with Alan King, Paddy Brennan and Racing Post’s Tom Segal amongst the panellists.

Whenever possible we also organise visits to stables and stud farms at weekends throughout the year.

WHAT YOU GET
Membership of the Club entitles you to FREE entrance to all club meetings (except Cheltenham Festival Preview Evening) and a monthly newsletter, providing all members with Club events and opportunities to win regular competition prizes. We also organise regular stable and stud visits at appropriate times of the year.

Annual Membership of the Club runs from the 1st January to the 31st December with a reduced rate for additional people living at the same address.
